A total of 1,988 Mississippians were admitted in Q3 2023 to community mental health centers for all substance use disorders and 470 for opioid use disorders (includes primary, secondary, and tertiary).
A total of 1,735 Mississippians were admitted in 2022 to community mental health centers for all substance use disorders and 835 for opioid use disorders (includes primary, secondary, and tertiary).
Opioids were listed as the primary diagnosis for 567 (32.7%) of the 1,735 unique patients admitted in 2022.
In Q2, the most patients (197) were admitted for opioid use disorder as a primary diagnosis; however, the most people were admitted for all substance use disorders in Q4 (1047).
